Challenge
The repercussions of the pandemic were significant for Visualise Scotland, a charity supporting people with a variety of disabilities and needs. The Great Resignation resulted in changes to the workforce and the need to recruit new supervisory and managerial staff; to ensure they had the necessary skillset and abilities; to retain staff and boost resilience; to showcase the company as an attractive Third Sector employer.
Solution
Personal support, mentoring and supervision for the CEO and leadership team of six was key to the transformation. Each of these team members were responsible for managing a team and impartial support, independent of the organisation, was crucial to allow them to discuss their individual issues, to help them excel and become truly effective managers of people and services.
Outcome
This was much more than a focus on mental health and wellbeing. The ripple effect is tangible across the staff, service users and the board. Striving for higher achievement and peak performance has benefited the whole organisation and, ultimately, those who use their services and their families.
Testimonial
“We are really excited to be working with direction. We have been collaborating with them for the last three months and the changes that we have seen within out organisation have been significant. It’s brilliant to be able to take a slow and sustained approach to this support by spreading out the mentoring hours across a year and we are very excited about the changes we will be able to implement across our organisation through working with Angie and her team over the coming nine months.” – Helen Brown, CEO
