Challenge
With the Covid-19 pandemic continually putting pressure on employees, VITEC, a market-leading provider of IPTV, video streaming and digital signage solutions, wanted to show its staff they were being cared for and supported by their employer. The business wanted to improve and excel while demonstrating that it was an employer of choice and that it valued its staff. There had also been a recent merger within the business from Exterity to VITEC, a global company.
Solution
Providing a tailored counselling and psychotherapy service that was both confidential and independent was the core of direction’s service, offered as part of their Employee Assistance Programme (EAP). Staff were helped to navigate through many personal and professional challenges including the pandemic, working from home and hybrid working, stress, loss and anxiety. Time-limited, external and independent counselling sessions gave staff a safe and confidential space in which to focus on specific goals and objectives without impacting on their work record or others being aware of the sessions.
Outcome
VITEC understands that looking after its staff is the key to the overall success of their business. Following the success of the work under the Employee Assistance Programme, direction was invited to deliver Lunch & Learn seminars and training which focused on change and transition, building resilience and mindfulness.
Testimonial
“We have been working with direction for a few years as they provide our EAP. It’s great to work with a local company who can provide a variety of support. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and the support service is well received by our employees as they know everything discussed between them and a counsellor is 100% confidential. direction have also run several workshops with us on various topics which had high engagement and conversations about mental health are on the increase. More employees are beginning to see the benefit of accessing help and support and have really embraced the offerings by direction. Thank you Angie and Team.” – Emma Young, HR Manager
